Choose a scene, with one other person, from a Shakespeare play. Divide all the parts between the two of you. Perform the given scene for one audience member.
- - - - - - -
Example:
We, Clara and Lily, chose the Pyramus and Thisbe, play-within-a-play, from A Midsummer's Night Dream. We divided the parts from the chosen scene between us and set up a minimal stage set. One other person, our friend Sarah, served as our singular audience member and documenter. The scene was tape-recorded, and photographed. You do not have to be an actor, or even know the text, to do this assignment . We performed our scene unrehearsed, and we are definitely not actors. We encourage others to perform Shakespeare outside the parameters of the theater.
