Wrap my body in a plain sheet or in cheesecloth, and drop me into the Pacific Ocean. (The cloth is for the comfort of those doing the dropping. None of us get out of this world alive, but none of us want the reminders, either.)
Just let my carcass sink gently into the great Pacific. I want to join the food chain, and I want to join it directly. None of this planting and rotting for me. Just drop me into the deep and let the critters have at me. I wanna be shark food! Let the predators at the top of the ocean's food chain do what they will, and then let the others take their turns. Why waste all this protein?
I can see my mortal remnants drifting, bit by bit, into the black depths. Little fragments will be attacked and swallowed by those strange bioluminescent fish. Even smaller fragments will be swept up by the filter feeders. Odd bits will end up in the dark ocean bottom, to be swept up by a worm along with the other detritus.
Maybe I'll get lucky and become nourishment for tube worms at those strange, deep sea thermal vents.
Maybe I'll just sink into the mud.
Maybe my atoms will end up in krill, feeding the whales. Beat that, Jonah!
Yeah.
