1. In March I took my first bubble bath and was afraid of the bubbles, a fear that lasted one week before I learned to appreciate them.
2. My favorite song at the time, Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called to Say I love you," was #1 on the charts in the U.S. and the U.K.
3. In March my doggy Mitt had puppies, one of whom (named Tank) gave me a scratch on my left cheek - my only permanent scar to this day.
4. With the help of my mother and my faithful ABC book, I learned the entire capital alphabet by September (one month before my 2nd birthday - ah, the birth of a bookworm).
5. In November I left my first best friend, Mindy, behind when my family moved from Tillamook to Salem.
