1. I met and married my first husband, a sweet-talking emigrant who was about to be deported.
2. I was pregnant with our child -- my precious daughter Mena.
3. The economy wsa going south and although my husband had a masters in chemical engineering, he had to settle for working as a chef.
4. I had my first ultrasound and was given a keepsake photograph of the tiny life growing inside my womb.
5. After many betrayals from hospital administration, I made a conscious decision to leave the field of nursing when my child was born; I left nursing permanently in 1985.
