(Argument begins with a series of e-mails, the first being his proposal on a marketing partnership, sent to a group of employees that would be involved in the proposal's implementation. I "Reply to All" with my comments on the inital proposal. He sends the following.)
From: Him

To: Me
Subject: RE: Marketing Proposal*
Why not send to the entire staff.

It's SOP, when someone e-mails a group of people, and you have a response to that e-mail, to respond to the same group the initial e-mail was sent to, so that all remain in the loop.
(Phone rings)
Me: (picking up phone) Hello.
Him: I want to talk to you RIGHT NOW about this e-mail you sent.
Me: Which one? The one I just sent or the one before that?
Him: The one you just sent.
Me: Okay. When?
Him: Right now.
Me: Do you do want me to come down to your office?
Him: Yeah.
(I get up and walk down to his office)
Me: Yeah?
Him: Enough of this fuckin' marketing decisions by committee.
Me: I was replying to your e-mail, so I replied to all of the people it was originally sent to.
Him: (staring at his his computer screen and reading/mumbling to himself the text of my e-mail) It's SOP, when someone e-mails a group of people, and you have a response to that e-mail, to respond to the same group the initial e-mail was sent to, so that all remain in the loop.
(Back to me, but not looking at me)
This is bullshit. You just answer your part of the question. You don't have to e-mail everyone.
Me: But my response concerned everyone that the e-mail was originally sent to.
Him: James* responded to me privately.
Me: Karl* replied to all when he responded.
Him: What are you talking about?
Me: When Karl* responded, he e-mailed everyone. Did you get mad at him for e-mailing everyone?
Him: I didn't see that e-mail.
Me: I'll send it to you. Are you going to say something to him?
Him: He didn't neeed to do that.
Me: Are you going to call him and get mad at him, too?
Him: Yeah, I'm going to write him back right now.
Me: All right, I won't reply to all anymore.
(I walk back to my office)
