A "pal" of mine asked me to come to his staff Christmas Party. We used to be best friends and then his dad died and things changed and got weird for us. At that point, (the Christmas Party point) we hadn't really hung out or anything like that in what would be close to a year, so already the night was a little weird.

I felt extremely awkward at the party; a few of his work buddies were big tough sports enthusiasts and I think the job he had at the time had something to do with being tough. I didn't really fit in. At any rate, there was a terrible live band playing country style Christmas Carols (Nashville kind of country) and we were sitting there (it was too loud to talk) with this weird, drifting kind of animosity between us, which, of course, was somewhat diluted by the fantastic Christmas cheer.

After a buffet styled supper, he stabbed a melted candy cane in my arm. I didn't know what to do, I screamed, but you can't just wipe off melted candy in your flesh. I think it hardened fairly quickly and I remember picking it out- that was the most painful part. I don't remember what I said to him or how I reacted. I don't think I got too explosively angry.

We don't talk anymore. The last time I saw him he told me he had a gang-bang with a girl and three other guys.
