Advice to Nicholas Riddle, Age 18
1. When you graduate high school, pack your bike and go ride around Europe. Race, tour, it doesn't matter. Go get cultured.
2. Put off having a job as long as possible.
3. Play more.
4. Stop taking things so seriously.
5. Money is insignificant.
6. Art is not located somewhere else.
7. Don't be afraid to Fail. This is how you learn.
8. No one is judging you. Those that are do not matter.
9. Stand up straight. Posture reflects your frame of mind.
10. Good ideas are easy. The right idea takes experience to find.
11. Surround yourself with your heroes. You'll find that you're capable of the same.
12. Don't reinvent the wheel. No one is interested.
13. Work is not an identity.
14. The company does not care about you. Only people will.
15. Get to know your neighbors.
16. People are complex. You think you already know this. But you have no idea.
17. Read more. Learn from history.
18. Talk to old people. They've been through it all and have made all the same mistakes you're about to make.
19. Relax, there is plenty of time.
20. Only dedicate your time to things you feel passionate about.
