Advice to Hannah at age 10:
1- Sometime soon, when Tess says you "don't really have breasts yet, you're just a bit fat." Ignore her. She's just jealous. You do have breasts. They'll be quite pretty in a few years and she'll be fat.
2- Don't fret about losing Sue as a friend when you go to secondary school. You will eventually end up in the same class as her and find out she's a bitch anyway.
3- You will enter puberty before any of your friends do. You won't know that this is why you feel fat and ugly. But that is the reason. You are NOT fat and ugly! Say to yourself "I am beautiful and sexy" every morning, so you don't end up in a public bathroom with your finger down your throath.
4- Don't lose your virginity to Julian, even though you planned it. You'll regret not waiting for someone you were actually in love with. Guess what, most of your friends are still virgins at 18 or 19. It's nothing to be ashamed of.
5- If you must have sex with him, for godsake use a condom! You may be on birth control, but that one girl Julian slept with before you turns out to be a total slut.
6- Don't give up dancing! It's the only form of exercise you'll ever like.
7- Talk to granddad, especially about his childhood. He's going to pass away when you're 17 and you'll feel like you hardly knew him.
8- Don't bother joining a football team. You'll hate it.
9- Don't tell Kat secret stuff. She'll tell her mother, who will tell your parents.
10- Start learning to play the guitar. You will want to be able to when you're older and have less time.
11- That day when Sue forgets her piano books in school and you both have to cycle back, be careful. You're going to be hit by a car. It's painful and traumatic.
12- Don't make out with Sam, Dean, Filip, Kasper and Brad. You'll regret it.
13- Definitely, definitely don't make out with Ron...he has feelings for you and it will ruin your friendship.
14- Start saving. In a few years, something called an iPod will be invented, and you'll want one.
