advice from 22 yr old carrie to 16 year old carrie:
1. the punks may be fun now, but in the long run the nerds are healthier and more successful. keep doing what you're doing, but try to diversify okay?
2. you won't always cry over your grandpa's death, honey.
3. drugs aren't as bad as you think. don't take yourself too seriously, in 3 years you will be smoking a lot of weed!
4. your friendship with marissa will not last past high school... i still don't know whether this is a good or a bad thing.
5. stop being such a serial monogamist, you will continue this trend for the next 7 years!!!!
18 year old carrie:
1. it's not you, it's them. you will change colleges, but the life experiences you gain will be immeasurable! journal more, so you don't forget all your crazy adventures. oh, and don't worry about school because your credits will barely transfer anyways!
2. you are a strong little lady! i'm so proud of all that you've been through- i know it's hard sometimes and sometimes you are very lonely, but it will not always be this way. take care of yourself and trust in God (yes, you will eventually go to jerusalem).
3. your relationship with your mom will improve after you settle down a bit. first, you have to get this rebellion out of your system!
4. i know you love him, but you and bill will not always be together. i want you to know this so that you can keep your relationship with him in perspective while making and sustaining other relationships. don't give up so many friends!
5. there is a lot more to life than being different.
