-sound of the phone vibrating-
Me: Hello?
B: Hi, it's Bobby.
Me: Ohmygosh! Bobby! How are you?
B: I'm pretty good. How are things in Des Moines?
Me: Things here aren't bad, but they're a little weird. A lot of my friends graduated and the Jacob thing still sucks. And Students Beyond War starts tomorrow and I'm really nervous.
B: It'll be fine, isn't Mickey helping?
Me: Yeah, but I haven't heard from him in months and we don't have an agenda. I'd really hate for people to show up if it's not going to be productive, you know?
B: Can't you just make the agenda?
Me: I guess I probably should. I just worry I won't do a good job.
B: Don't worry, I'm sure you'll figure it out as you go along.
Me: Yeah that's true. Ohmygosh, sorry to focus on me so much, HOW IS BROWN!
B: It's pretty good. I'm taking some really interesting classes, my favorite is this one on the politics of exploitation. My roommate's really cool, he's a biology major and we've hung out a lot. I've met a lot of really cool people, actually.
Me: I am so glad to hear that Bobby! I'm so happy you're having a good time.
B: Yeah, me too. I'm really sorry but I have a lot to get done tonight. I wanted to check in though, can we talk more later?
Me: Yeah definitely. But hey, uhh, I just wanted to say that you were a really good friend to me last year when I needed one and I'm really glad I met you.
B: Oh, thanks, yeah, I mean I'm glad too. I hope your senior year gets better, it's just getting started. And don't worry so much about the little stuff, it's not going to matter.
Me: Thanks, Bobby. Hey I'm in creative writing, would it be OK if I sent you one of my stories sometime?
B: Yeah, I'd really like that.
Me: OK, I'll try to soon.
B: Alright, we'll keep having fun in college! Bye
Me: Bye
