1. peter, from my preschool class, liked to play with my rainbow bright horse, while john invited me over to his house to play in the garage; both made me feel something i couldn't identify but now think of a crush.
2. i thought that i knew how to look cute in photos taken of me, only to be sorely disappointed later at the way i actually looked, which i thought was chubby and spoiled.
3. i learned to read and write (i already knew how to draw).
4. my mother made matching pajamas for my family at christmastime, but she didn't make a pair for herself.
5. i had a birthday party at which everyone got happy meals and McDonald's party hats and we ate Ronald McDonald cake with really sugary frosting and my dad videotaped it and i felt like i was going to be four years old forever.
