1. The first nosebleed I can remember happened in class while I was sitting on the floor and blood dripped onto my white nylon winter boots.
2. I was best friends with a Spanish girl in my class; I thought she was pretty.
3. I watched my sister (age 5 at the time) taste her first sip of beer, permitted by a friend's father whom we hardly ever saw.
4. We fostered a lot of stray cats & kittens.
5. My parents who came to the U.S. about two yrs. before my sister was born owned and operated a large restaurant virtually by themselves, until we relocated that year.
