1. My family and I (aged 6) moved from Montreal to Calgary. This is the first memory of my mother crying. She didn't stop crying until 1999.
2. Soviet-U.S relations reached a(nother) boiling point. This era would later fascinate me and drive my honors thesis in University.
3. My best friend in the world was born. I'm sure she was a beautiful, happy baby.
4. I kissed the boy down the street. Revisionism would allow me to contend that this wasn't really my first kiss, which wouldn't actually happen until 1995.
5. My sister (aged 14) fell in love with David Bowie and as a result so did I.
