Dad: Get your lerner's permit.
Me: Dad, I just got my permit and have never been behind the wheel. Shouldn't I start out in an empty parking lot?
Dad: Come on, it's easy.
Me: NO, I'm scared to drive for the first time at night.
Dad: Let's go. Get your permit.
Mom (to Dad): Are you kidding? Her first time driving shouldn't be in traffic, on major roads, in traffic!
Dad (walking out the door): Come on.
Me (getting my permit): Ok.
