JEROME: If you must know I couldn't talk earlier because of a conversation I was having with my parents.
ERTEL: What about?
JEROME: Nothin. What was your emergency.
ERTEL: I'm not telling you my emergency until you tell me what you were talking about.
JEROME: Nothing that you could possibly understand. Its about Christianity.
ERTEL:Oh so because I'm Jewish I can't understand things about Christianity. Don't you think thats a little unfair?
JEROME: Listen, I don't want to talk about it.
ERTEL: I mean what if I was having a conversation and couldn't relate it to you because you're black. How would that go over?
JEROME: Well...I don't know. I guess I'd just have to deal with it.
ERTEL:I'd like to be able to hear about your problems no matter what they're about.
JEROME: We'll when it comes to being a good Christian I can't really talk to you. I mean why would you care?
ERTEL: Because I love you.
