Me: Did you remember to pick up the catalogue today?
Him: No, I forgot. I'll do it Monday.
Me: I needed it for this weekend. I actually needed it yesterday. I need the catalogue. Is there any way you can get it?
Him: If you had asked me sooner I could have gotten it to you in time.
Me: I didn't know I was going to need it until Wednesday. I just found out myself. Are you going by your work at all? Aren't you going to Alameda tomorrow morning? Can you pick it up on your way? I will go with you.
Him: (silence.)
Me: Thanks...a lot. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. (I say as I look past him and walk upstairs to the bedroom.)
