There are actually two scars on my knee in this picture.

The one that's the most apparent, the bigger one, is beneath the other one. That one, I got playing tag outside my old house with the older boy who was babysitting me and my little brother. I fell on some bricks that were being put into the new sidewalk leading up to my door. They weren't paved, just rough and crooked. At least, that's how my parents tell me I got this scar. I don't remember falling or being in pain. I remember laughing and running in the grass and the sun shining. It seems like it must have bled a lot, though. It seems like it was probably pretty painful.

The second one I also only barely recall how I got it. It's above and to the left of the first one. I'm fairly certain I got it in 7th grade, when I was trying to learn how to ride a bike. I'm still not very good at it.

I used to think that, if I had scars, no one would ever love me. I kept waiting for them to go away. The other day, I was taking a bubble bath and noticed all the scars on my knees for the first time in months. These little scars have finally stopped bothering me.
