This is a scar on the top outside corner of my left eyebrow. It is very old, 16 years to be exact. My older sister and I were home alone; she was babysitting me. I remember her doing her homework and I remember being bored. I began jumping on the bed. I don't remember the rest. I just have the scar to trust that it is true. I jumped too hard and missed the bed's edge. My head hit the desk corner, where my sister was doing her homework, and I started bleeding. A lot. Earlier that Sunday my sister had watched some pet first aid program and she instantly recalled the number one tip for bird first aid: if there's blood, splatter flour on the wound to stop or slow the bleeding. My parents came home to find flour all over the kitchen and all over me. I think they became alarmed when they saw the flour start to chunk and turn red around my forehead. My sister however, was beaming with pride.
