I got this scar on my right calf on the first day riding with clipless pedals on my bike. I hadn't mastered disengaging my feet from the pedals. Actually did get one foot, my left, out -- unfortunately it was the wrong leg. I was leaning to the right and fell in spectacular fashion, pulling the right leg out on the way down -- too late -- only to have the jagged pedal smash right into it. Of course this was at a busy intersection, with three girls standing nearby who asked if I was alright. When I said I was, they asked, "Are you sure?" I was mortified, to say the least.
