It was may second, 1999. I was at an outdoor auction, in the back and everyone had left by then. My friend and i were walking, i dont even know how i fell, i remember trying to get up and not being able to. I couldnt lift my left arm, only the shoulder. i had a compound fracture and the bone exited the skin. at that time i got scared, i told my friend to get help and he ran off to find someone. i sat there for what felt like hours watching the blood pool up in my cupped hand. i managed to wave someone down after 15 minutes. that person that i will never know, called and got me help. Sometime i wonder where he is. the ambulance eventually got there and when i arrived at the emergancy room a feeling of calmness came over me, and i fell asleep. I woke up much later i had been through one surgery. and two more to go. im thankful for modern technology knowing that it could have been worse. im thankful for what i have. i have two metal plates in my arm along with nine screws, and limited mobility.
