									I didn't want to be there, and i guess my unconscious took over.   i was rehearsing with a famously difficult live 'drum and bass' drummer.  it was a warehouse, recently filled with sawdust and machinery.  renovations.  my bass and bass amplifier were among dangerous items.  i knocked over a vise grip with sharp edges and that mangled my left foot.  blood and a partially severed tendon.  i saw the soft side of the drummer.  it was a high point.  he carried me to the taxi below and went with me to the hospital, all the while assuring me i'd be okay.  i don't mind hospitals.  i rather like them really, so his support was unnecessary but not unwelcome.  we became close friends afterwards.
