Alex's Scar
My roommate Alex competitively rode horses throughout her childhood and teenage years. One day while practicing for a competition Alex said that she decided to take a joy ride to relieve some of the stress on her and her horse. While she was riding down a mildly traveled road a truck drove by so closely that it almost brushed Alex's horse causing it to shy and throw Alex off. Alex tore her ACL when she landed and had to have surgery. She said that after this fall riding horses was never the same because she realized just how dangerous it was. After Alex's fall she said that she started riding horses less and less until she no longer had enough interest in riding in order to take the risk of horse back riding.
